  1. I will tell you how I do it….
    I know have a special tool to shuck oysters with…before I used to use a butter knife. Find a shucker…much eaiser. It is like a flat thick blade w/a handle….it’s not sharp.
    Inset the tip of the "knife" into the middle of hinge area and give a BIG twist…the hinge will pop. Run your knife under the entire oyster to realease the meat (do this over a bowl to catch juices). Make sure you have a towel or something thicker in the hand you are holding your oyster with…lots of juice and in case you slip you won’t jab your self. If you are putting them on the half shell use the deeper half of the shell.
